Artifice is often opposed to nature, to truth, and sometimes to good. It is a human production which acts as a filter hiding, glorifying and imitating reality.
Why aren’t we comfortable with the idea of artifice? What if we totally encourage it as Baudelaire did throughout his lifetime? Flowers are known as an allegory of nature.
I combined natural and fake flowers with plastic layers in the most artificial manner in order to create a new experience and visual langage of still life.
Colors are saturated and textures vanishes, smoothed by the plastic. My project is the embodiment of the artifice at his climax.
